bloodline

• Not much about his clan is known. But it is certain that there aren't many people with the same abilities as Haku. Inheritting the bloodline from his mother's side of the family, Haku is able to manipulate water and ice as he wishes.
This clan is thought to have originated in the Water Country and is an advanced bloodline, similar to that of the Uchiha clan and Hyuuga clan.

• Advanced bloodlines means a special jutsu or abilities passed down through family members (eg. father to son, grandfather to grandson) and has existed in ancient times by their ancestors who's DNA patterns have changed over time. Though only appearing in specific clans, having an advanced bloodline is quite rare.

• An interesting fact is that no matter how skilled someone is, who is in possession of a sharingan (ie. Kakashi, Sasuke, anyone from the Uchiha clan. Sharingan lets them copy their oppenent's abilities and moves) they are unable to mimic a jutsu that's been handed down from an advanced blood. That makes Haku the only one able to perform the Makyou Hyou Shou.
